Sin embargo, los datos extraoficiales obtenidos mediante el seguimiento particular de la encuesta demostraron que la violencia perpetrada por los hombres no era más frecuente ni más grave que la perpetrada por sus parejas femeninas.
Por consiguiente, concluyen los autores, “la idea de que las parejas involucradas en incidentes oficiales de violencia de pareja se caracterizan predominantemente por la violencia unilateral del hombre a la mujer no se ajusta a los resultados del estudio”.
